Big Time Saver

You might be tempted to skip this part, but I put some goodies here to save you time. You can print out the Road Map packet that will help bring this workshop to life as you fill out the sheets to practice as you go.  It can make all the difference in understanding how the system works rather than just hearing it.

Also check out the get started page. Because I love you, I did a lot of extra work on this e-book to link the pages so you can hop, skip and jump around by clicking page numbers and sometimes using page titles. It's a big time saver to make this e-book be a working tool that will serve you quickly and quietly. It doesn't get much better than that. :-)

2 Open Doors: Plan a transcript that will open doors of opportunity.

Not every student is headed to college. Let's explore how difference transcripts open different doors of opportunity. Some doors are a challenge to open like certain competitive schools or military academies. You need to be super duper prepared. Other students will pursue more of a hands-on trade and their preparation will look differently. Let's take a look at the doors and find the best fit for your students.

3 Above and Beyond: Sports, Military, Scholarships

Home-based education can be flexible and fun, and it should be. Life-long learning is fun. At the same time, there are some opportunities that your students might pursue that have very strict requirements.

You need to know these well in advance. The best case scenario is to be on this track by 9th grade to give your students the best advantage is pursuing these goals. In this section, I have outlined the requirements for college sports, military enlistment, military academies and general scholarships. These are subject to change and you should always check the actual websites for each one to be sure the information is current.

I have included links and will do my best to make sure they are active and current. Should a link be broken, you can search online for NCAA eligibility and each branch of the military and academies. I also created a document to track scholarship opportunities and requirements.
